Jaundice alert issued in Thrissur
DMO Dr K. J. Reena said among the summer diseases, the most number of cases reported was jaundice.
Thrissur: District Medical Officer (DMO) here has issued a warning asking the public to be vigilant against jaundice which is spreading in Thrissur.
In an official release, DMO Dr K. J. Reena said that among the summer diseases the most number of cases reported was that of jaundice.
In the district, several flats in Puthur, Kuttamkulagara, Punkunnam, Ollur, Thiruvambadi and other places have been found struggling with jaundice.
“Jaundice or Hepatitis A spreads through contaminated water. The contamination of water in ponds, use of unsafe drinking water and commercial ice blocks in functions like wedding, the contamination of well water due to the leakage of septic tanks are the reasons for spread of jaundice,” DMO has said in her release.
