Tirupati: The Election Commission has ordered for a fresh poll in two more polling stations — 310-Kalepalli and 323-Kuppam Badar of Chandragiri constituency — in addition to five stations coming under 166-Chandragiri constituency and 25-Chittoor (SC) Parliamentary constituency, announced earlier.

With the EC’s announcement, re-polling will be conducted in seven polling stations in the constituency from 7 am to 6 pm on May 19.

The EC had given orders last week to conduct fresh polls at five polling stations in the constituency, including NR Kammapalli – 321, Pulivarthi Palli – 104, Kotha Kandriga – 316, Kammapalli – 318 and Venkatramapuram – 313.

According to officials, the EC, after considering the report submitted by the Chief Electoral Office, declared that polls held on April 11 at the seven polling stations will be considered void.

On April 11, a series of clashes took place between TD and YSR Congress supporters. Subsequently, YSRC candidate Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy filed a complaint alleging that voters of a particular community were not allowed to cast their votes.
