7-year-old dies as bike collides with Congress MLA’s car in Mulugu district

The injured were identified as Erpa Jaya, who is the deceased’s mother, and her brother Kursham Arun.

WARANGAL: A seven-year-old girl, Erpa Sravanthika, was killed and two others were injured after the bike they were travelling on collided with Mulugu MLA Seethakka’s car near Jeedivagu in Eturnagaram mandal in Mulugu district.

The accident took place when the Congress MLA was on her way to visit the Hemachala Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple in Mallur to take part in Kalyanam as part of the ongoing Brahmotsavams.

The injured were identified as Erpa Jaya, who is the deceased’s mother, and her brother Kursham Arun.

The Gutti Koya family resides at Kumrambheem Nagar near Papkapuram village. They were on their way to an Anganwadi centre in Ramnagar.
According to eyewitnesses, Arun was driving on the wrong side of the road near a curved section.

The MLA’s driver spotted the bike but could not slow down in time to avoid hitting them. Arun too tried to avoid a collision by swerving across the road but it was too late and in doing so the bike hit the right side of the car. Sravanthika who was sitting in the front of the bike received a heavy blow on her head and died on the spot. The other two sustained injuries and are under treatment at the Eturnagaram area hospital.

Seethakka helped shift the injured to the hospital in another vehicle and stayed in the hospital and spoke to the doctors. She assured the family of all possible help from her side.
