Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala should be removed if he doesn't resign: M K Stalin

The verdict given by the Supreme Court is seen as a big victory for democracy and the Constitution.

Chennai: Welcoming the Supreme Court directive to hold a floor test in Karnataka on Saturday, DMK working president M.K.Stalin has demanded the removal of Governor Vajubhai Vala for his "mistake" in inviting the BJP to form the government.

"The verdict given by the Supreme Court is seen as a big victory for democracy and the Constitution. The mistake by the Karnataka Governor has become apparent," Stalin told reporters here.

"Vala should immediately resign or Prime Minister Modi or President (Ram Nath Kovind) should remove him from the post," said Stalin.

As soon as news reached him Thursday that Governor Vala had invited Yeddyurappa to form the government, Stalin had criticised the Governor's decision as 'hasty' and 'unconstitutional', alleging it would lead to horse trading.
