Hyderabad to get more flyovers
Hyderabad: While the Centre has approved construction of two elevated corridors in Uppal and Amberpet few days ago, the city is set to get one more fly-over from Balanagar X Road to Narsapur X Road.
According to HMDA commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu, the metropolitan body was taking steps to lay foundation stone for this new flyover in July.
This flyover is set to ease traffic snarls between Secunderabad-Balanagar-Kukatpally stretch and also traffic coming from Bowenpally, Balkampet, Jeedimetla and surrounding areas.
The total cost of the six-lane flyover will be nearly Rs 400 crore including land acquisition costs. Nearly 60 properties on either side of the existing road of 30 metres are being acquired for construction of this fly-over.
GHMC planning department has been tasked with the responsibility of land acquisition and released Rs 25 crore already for the same.
HMDA chief engineer B.L.N. Reddy stated that they have started tender process already. He said land acquisition was taken up by the civic body and it is likely to be completed by July.
This six-lane two-way flyover will be in the direction of Kukatpally Y Junction to Bowenpally Junction crossing Narsapur X Road and Fatehnagar Junction.
The present 30-metre road will be widened to 60 metres with 24 metre going for the width of the flyover. The rest of the 36 metre will be developed as service roads on either side of the flyover. The metropolitan body is planning to complete it in 12 to 15 months time.
