Hyderabad: Elaborate bandobast for IPL final match

A total of about 1,800 police personnel have been deployed for bandobast.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police Commissioner on Thursday reviewed the security arrangements for the IPL final match to be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat said elaborate bandobast is being arranged in coordination with different wings -- the security wing (250), the traffic (270), the law and order (870), the armed forces (6 platoons), the Octopus, the SB, and the CCS staff. Two fire tenders have been assigned to the fire-fighting squad.

A total of about 1,800 police personnel have been deployed for bandobast.

He said 88 CCTV cameras are being installed in and around the stadium including at the vehicle check points. A joint command and control room was also set up at the South ground floor, to monitor all the CCTV footages, so that immediate action can be initiated in the event of any disturbance.

A special team has been arranged to help meet with any exigency. Anti sabotage checks will be done with the help of eight bomb disposal teams that would do round-the-clock surveillance.

Laptops, banners, water bottles, cameras, cigarettes, electronic items, matchboxes, lighters, sharp metal pieces and plastic objects, binoculars, coins, writing pens, batteries, helmets, perfumes, bags, and eatables from outside, and the like, are not allowed into the stadium.

A separate SHE team has also been deployed to check eve-teasing and a separate supervising team would keep a watch on vendors and their rates in each stand.

The antecedents of the personnel who are being engaged by the sponsors related to the IPL match are being thoroughly checked and passes with photos issued to them. Police also strictly warned against exchange of accreditation cards, that is strictly prohibited, and replacement of personnel.

Parking details at RGI cricket stadium
Car-pass holders of outer gate 1 and 2 should come from the Ramanthapur side (LG Godown/ Modern Bakery) and park their vehicles in parking lots A & B inside the stadium. If the parking A & B lots inside the stadium are full, they should move towards gate 11 via gate 1 and park their vehicles in the private land.

The bikes of gate 1 & 2 will park their vehicles in parking lot – B.

Spectators holding complimentary passes of corporate boxes along with car passes and have access through outer Gate-1 should enter from Ramanthapur road ( LG Godown) and park their vehicles at parking lot A or B respectively.

The physically challenged spectators, holding passes, are advised to enter from Ramantapur road and they can enter the stadium through outer gate 3.

Gate No: 3,4,5,6 & 7: Car pass holders should come from Ek-Minar end and enter APIIC ground parking. Bike pass holders of gate-3,4,5,6 & 7 can park their vehicles on both sides of the Uppal to Habsiguda main road except the metro rail station construction area.
