CBSE class 12 results on May 27 likely: Parents worried by delay
Chennai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release the class 12 board exam results on May 27, according to the sources.
With many state boards declaring the plus-2 results, some students and parents from CBSE schools are anxious about the delay in CBSE results.
“Many arts and science colleges in the city are closing their applications next week. CBSE students are not able to apply as they do not know their marks,” a parent from Chetpet said.
He further demanded the board to release the class 12 results as soon as possible to avoid the unnecessary tension for the students.
This year the board hadpostponed the exams by a week due to the assembly elections.
When enquired, CBSE officials denied any delay in releasing the results.
“Usually, class 12 results are being released in the last week of May. This year the board is planning to release the results on May 27,” they said.
Over 10 lakh students from all over the country wrote class 12 exams this year. From Chennai region, 59 thousand students have appeared for the exams. Some parents are also worried that their wards marks may be decreased due to the board’s decision not to moderate the exam marks this year.
“There are reports that the average marks may go down by 10% as the board decided to not to do any standardisation this year. It may affect the students in getting admissions to the arts and science courses,” a parent said.
