Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had vowed to offer gold jewellery worth Rs 5.59 crore to various deities, will visit Tirumala first along with half-a-dozen ministers and legislators by May-end.
The offerings are on behalf of the TS government. Mr Rao had vowed to make the donation if statehood was granted to Telangana. The TS government has sought the help of TTD jewellers in making the gold ornaments for Lord Venkateswara and the jewellery has been kept ready. Mr Rao had earlier seen the designs and approved them.
Recently, he discussed the pilgrimage tour with adviser to the TS government K.V. Ramanachary, irrigation minister T. Harish Rao and others and decided to visit Tirumala by May-end. Mr Rao has asked officials to keep ornaments to be donated to other temples ready so that he can include these other temples in his pilgrimage tour.
“The TTD has kept ready the gold ornaments meant for Lord Venkateswara. CM garu will visit Tirumala and Padmavati temples by May-end followed by other temples,” Dr Ramanachary told DC on Wednesday.
“While TTD jewellers made the ornaments for Lord Venkateswara, we sought the help of devotee jewellers in other temples for making the ornaments,” Dr Ramanachary added.
