Colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are hiring teachers from the North
Hyderabad: Leading coaching institutes in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are scouting for North Indian faculty to teach Neet lessons to students. And they are ready to pay huge salaries for their services.
Lecturers from North Indian states know the NCERT syllabus and coaching methodology of national entrance tests. With state entrance exams like Eamcet making way for NEET, these lecturers are in big demand, especially in the two Telugu states.
While a few coaching institutes that have branches in New Delhi and nearby areas have decided to shift some members to branches in a few cities of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, others have decided to hire them.
However, since most lecturers are reluctant to relocate for just two months to handle special classes, until Neet in July end, the institutes have decided to hire them for a year.
Centres in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kota (Rajasthan) and Patna have lecturers who are experts in national syllabus and coaching techniques. But they are demanding Rs 25 lakh per annum against the normal pay packages given to lecturers in the state which is Rs 15 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.
“Eamcet has less theory and 90 per cent of problems. However, the Neet syllabus is a bit different, where theory comprises at least 30 per cent. It is necessary to rope in lecturers from North India, who have decades of teaching experience.
We have decided to recruit two teachers for each for botany, zoology, physics and chemistry. After the two-month special classes, their services will be utilised to train our lecturers over the next year,” a coaching institute managerer said.
The experts from North India will also be asked to help prepare coaching material for Neet that these institutes could print for the benefit of students.
