Vijayawada: Krishna district joint-collector Dr. Aparajitha Singh on Wednesday inspected the Machilipatnam Port site, where Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will lay the foundation stone next month for construction of a modern port.
She checked out the ongoing port connectivity road works at Manginapudi and visited breakwater, dredging, approach channel, turning circle and proposed pylon area.
Speaking on the occasion, the joint collector said road connectivity works are going on at a brisk pace. This will help heavy vehicles carry materials needed for construction of the port.
Dr. Aparajitha said port construction will go full steam after the Chief Minister lays the foundation for the port works. She disclosed that the CM’s schedule at the port will be finalised soon.
