Mysuru: Following the shocking incident in which a teenager died after falling into a waste dump a couple of days ago, the technical advisory committee (TAC) of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) in their interim report, has observed that it found reactive substances at the site of the incident which emitted fumes in survey number 329 in Naganahalli village, near Belvantha industrial area in Mysuru.
Pollution control board officials observed that when the land surface was disturbed, it was observed that fumes of a high temperature emanated.
The soil samples have been collected and sent for chemical analysis to the KSPCB laboratory in Mysuru and Bengaluru and Ganesh Consultancy laboratory in Mysuru.
The report will be ready in five days after which it will be possible to reach a conclusion on what caused the death of the boy and whether it was industrial waste which was responsible.
In fact, three people who had come in contact with the soil at this site last week, had suffered burn injuries with one of them succumbing to the burns Sunday night.
The Mysuru district administration has banned entry of people to the site from April 17 to May 2.
