Hyderabad: Dentist gets scholarship for her work in Andaman

This is the second such scholarship from an individual ISB alumnus.

Hyderabad: WhatsApp vice-president and ISB alumnus Neeraj Arora has instituted a merit-cum-need based scholarship for deserving woman students pursuing Post Graduate Programme in Management, the Indian School of Business said on Tuesday.

The first recipient of the scholarship is Salini Tiwari, a dental surgeon from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, who strived for improving healthcare facilities and has been extending support to the people of the islands.

Neeraj Arora instituted the “Jagannath Arora Scholarship” to fulfil his father’s aspiration to support talented and deserving young women professionals pursue a career of their choice.

Speaking about the scholarship and his association with ISB, Neeraj Arora said, ‘‘ISB gave me the basics of how to build a company. I would like to give something back and will continue to do so in the coming years.”

Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB, said, “Our alumni are the true ‘owners’ of ISB and it is heartening to see more and more of them coming forward to encourage deserving young students.”

This is the second such scholarship from an individual ISB alumnus, the first being the Phoenix Nurture India scholarship instituted by Amit Khanna, Founder, Phoenix Holdings, who has awarded 10 scholarships over the years supporting students who are the sole earning members of their families.
