Karnataka: High school teachers to evaluate II PUC answer scripts
Bengaluru: The Pre-University Department has decided to use the services of high school teachers for the II PUC final examination valuation work, if needed.
The teachers should be at least postgraduates in the same subject and should have the experience of teaching in PU colleges.
The PU department has permitted more than 800 composite PU colleges which have high school and PUC classes on the same campus. In these composite colleges, high school teachers teach even PU students based on the work load. Now PU department is planning to use these teachers for the valuation work.
Delay in results
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar said that there will be a delay in the announcement of II PUC results, because of the continued delay in the valuation works because of lecturers’ strike seeking better benefits. “Students are not bothered about date of results, but only the media is. We will not be in a hurry to announce the results,” he said.
7,000 substitute lecturers ready
PUE director, Ramegowda said 7,000 substitute lecturers had already agreed to begin the valuation work starting Wednesday. “If we need more lecturers we can even use high school teachers, who have done their masters in the subjects. But only those who have taught at the PU level will be used for the valuation work," he added
