Warangal: 2 ATMs gutted in fire at SBI branch

The fire fighters were able to douse the flames before they could spread to the other rooms of the bank\'s main branch.

Warangal: Two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and two Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) of the State Bank of India (SBI), main branch, caught fire due to a short circuit at the ATM centre near Warangal Chowrasta in the early on Monday morning.

Fire officials said they received a call regarding the fire at about 1:30am. The two ATMs, two CDMs along with the two air-conditioners and two CCTV cameras were gutted in the fire.

However, the fire fighters were able to douse the flames before they could spread to the other rooms of the bank's main branch.

SBI chief general manager Srinivas Rao told reporters that according there was Rs 55 lakh cash in the machines. Mr Srinivas said, “However, the exact figure will be known only after the machines are opened by the technical team from Mumbai in the presence of the insurance company representatives”.
