Vijayawada: Vijayawada Central constituency returning officer and municipal commissioner M. Rama Rao on Monday inspected the polling booths arranged in various schools and ordered officials to ensure that convenience of voters is given top priority.
Mr Rama Rao visited the T. VenkateswaraRao Municipal School, Durgapuram, Kennedy Public School, Bhavajipet, Ravindra Bharati School and Vignan Vihar School in Satyanarayanapuram, Jack and Jill School and Railway Training Institute here on Monday.
He checked all the 20 polling booths and checked the fans, lighting, ventilation and ramp arranged at the stations. He also checked the toilet facilities and drinking water arrangements and suggested some changes. Mr Rama Rao ordered the school managements to remove the tables placed in the classrooms that were allocated for polling purpose.
VMC officials accompanied Mr Rama Rao during the inspection.
