Hyderabad: Bus driver hacks wife after dispute

After the children went to sleep, Divya and Venkatesh reportedly spoke about the sale of a plot they owned at Achampet in Nagarkurnool.

Hyderabad: A bus driver, who picked up an argument with his wife over the sale of a plot allegedly hacked her to death at Alwal during the wee hours of Monday.

According to Alwal police, B. Venkatesh, 34, the accused, and B. Divya, 28, were married in 2010 and had two children, aged five and two years. The couple used to stay at the Harijan Basthi in Old Alwal.

On Sunday night, Venkatesh went home and the family had dinner. After the children went to sleep, Divya and Venkatesh reportedly spoke about the sale of a plot they owned at Achampet in Nagarkurnool.

Venkatesh wanted to sell the plot, while Divya was not interested. The conversation escalated and Venkatesh allegedly picked up an axe and hacked his wife to death.

The police received a call, from the neighbours, who also informed Divya’s sister. A case has been booked against Ventakesh and he has been taken into custody.
