No restriction on meditating at Jayalalithaa burial place: Chennai police
Chennai: According to the city police, currently there is no restriction for meditating at Jayalalithaa’s samadhi at the sands of Marina in Chennai. “If you are coming alone and sitting there for meditation nobody is going to object it. But if you are coming in a group consisting more than 4 people for meditation in public place you should get police permission according to section 41 of Chennai city police act,” a police officer noted when asked if there is any permission needed to sit on meditation at the samadhi of former CM.
The trend of mediating near the samadhi started by former CM O Panneerselvam, when he decided to rebel against Sasikala in the party. Later Sasikala took pledge at the samadhi before she went to jail. Jayalalithaa’s nice Deepa Jayakumar to sat on meditation before she announced her entry into politics and on Friday her husband too meditated at the same place before he announced launch of his political outfit.
