Zerodha launches first Tamil trading platform Kite

The firm which aims at regionalising support centres is all set to launch the regional trading platforms in Gujarati and Punjabi.

Chennai: After successfully tapping 15 per cent retail investors from each of the eight regional markets, online discount brokerage firm, Zerodha, launched the country’s first Tamil language trading platform called Kite on Friday.

The move could increase the participation of tier-2 towns in the stock market, said assistant vice president, sales, Zerodha, Jobosco Das. From providing the historical data on the chart to putting forth the financial details from the media houses, the regional software introduced already in eight languages had been a hit, said vice president- research &education services, Zerodha, Karthik Rangappa.

“Through the regional platform and by providing more options for investment with mutual funds, we plan to reach five million uninvested participations,” said founder &CEO of Zerodha, Nithin Kamath. Among the eight regional languages, Kannada and Malayalam are popularised in the country, added Karthik Rangappa.
