TTD Board offers land for Tirupati railway station expansion

Reconstruction of Sri Padmavathi Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Peethapuram at Rs 2.55 crore.

Nellore: TTD Board has approved to allocate 2.74 acres of TTD land to facilitate the extension of Tirupati railway station on south side for the benefit of pilgrims thronging to the holy shrine from all corners of the country.

The Trust Board meeting of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was held under the chairmanship of Ch. Krishnamurthy in Annamaiah Bhavan at Tirumala on Friday and gave a nod to several resolutions.

The board gave a green signal to introduce new Arjitha Sevas in sub-shrines of TTD including Astadala Pada Padmaradhana at Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple in Appalayagunta and Sahasra Kalasabhishekam (on every Amavasya) in Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Tirupati.

The seer of Sri Bhandarker Mutt of Karnataka will henceforth receive the temple honours along with Palimar mutt seer.

A committee has been constituted with board members A.V. Ramana, Bhanuprakash Reddy, Dr Hariprasad, Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju, CMO and Estates Officer to examine and decide the lease amount of the TTD land leased to Pushpagiri Netra institution located adjacent to TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Vijayanagaram. TTD also decided to take over Alagu Mallari Krishna swamy temple in Sullupeta of SPSR Nellore district.

The board has approved for '5cr worth Saligrama Haram and five row kante as donation to Lord on behalf of Telangana government. The board also thanked the TS government for the largesse.
