New Delhi: If predictions are to be believed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will rule the country from 2014 to 2026. Or so believes minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju, who has been studying works of French seer Nostradamus. Mr Rijiju, in a Facebook post, claimed to have discovered Nostradamus’ predictions made over 450 years ago about Mr Modi’s rule in the country.
Mr Rijiju, who had earlier landed himself in controversies over his reported remarks on a beef ban, North Indians “enjoying” breaking rules and so on, has this time drawn all eyes on him with his latest social media post.
“French prophet Nostradamus wrote that from 2014 to 2026, a man will lead India, whom initially people will hate but after that people will love him so much that he will be engaged in changing the country’s plight and direction. This was predicted in the year 1555,” the minister posted on Facebook.
Mr Rijiju, an MP from Arunachal (West), cited some numbers as “Amazing Facts”, to show how the numbers breakup of the BJP, NDA, UPA and Others in the current Lok Sabha adds to 13 in each case as a matter of either sheer coincidence or providence. The minister’s post, however, does not make it clear how the numbers are linked to Nostradamus’ supposed prediction.
“A middle-aged superpower administrator will bring a golden age not only in India but on the entire world. Under his leadership India will not only just become the Global Master, but many countries will also come into the shelter of India,” Mr Rijiju posted, apparently quoting Nostradamus.
Sources said the minister had read the predictions in a translated version of Nostradamus’ works and only mentioned it in his personal Facebook account. It was learnt that the post was later removed.
