Rohit was not the kind of person who would end his life.

Warangal: The Left parties which have never stepped forward to support the university students who have been facing lot of problems since long have suddenly started protesting after Rohit Vemula’s suicide and JNU incidents only for their political gains, said HCU ABVP president Nandanam Susheel Kumar.

Speaking to newsmen at the ABVP Bhavan in Balasamu-dram, Mr Susheel accused the Left and the Congress of trying to divide the students on the university campuses in the name of caste and religion. He said he feels threatened wherever he goes especially on HCU campus.

He called AICC vice- president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwall anti-national, accusing them of using Rohit Vemula’s death and the situation at JNU for their political gains and instigating students in the name of caste and religion and dividing the country. He said student organisations like ASA and SFI should be banned from University campuses.

“They are forming organisations in the name of Ambedkar and are indulging in anti-national activities by patronising terrorists. Communist parties are stooping low for survival by causing disruptions in the country,” he said.

Speaking about the death of Rohit Vemula, he said that he had known Rohit since five years and he was not the kind of person who would commit suicide because of a small issue that he is suspended. He asked for judicial probe in the case and said no one else has asked for the probe.

“If the ABVP is found guilty, we will abide by the law and take the punishment. After the incident I have received many threats. My parents received a letter saying I will be punished in the public court and many such threats have come. Whenever I go out I have to take someone along with me. I have no security especially on HCU campus,” he said.
