Good news for private education institutions

The government is moving in a positive direction in terms of the education sector.

BENGALURU: An outlay of Rs 17,373 crore, an increase of a little over Rs 1,000 crore from 2015, does indicate that the government is moving in a positive direction in terms of the education sector. Private players have a reason to cheer, with the government proposing a technology-driven, transparent and streamlined system for obtaining sanctions.

This includes registration of schools and colleges, permission for adopting CBSE and ICSE syllabi and recognition of minority institutions. “It’s nice to see a special allocation for shoes for children in government schools,” said Mansoor Ali Khan, Trustee, Delhi Public School. “Improvement of infrastructure in B.Ed colleges is also a welcome move, because without good teachers, there can be no good schools. Also, opening the doors to CSR activity in government schools is progressive step, because private institutions would like to help them,” he said.
