Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Subramanian Swamy, on Twitter, claimed that a media-circulated BJP poster of the jawans who were martyred in Pulwama actually carried the photos of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) terrorists.
In response to Mr Swamy’s tweet, a user had put up a photo of policemen saluting a poster, which carried the photos of the martyred ‘jawans’. According to some media reports the photo was posted on a Pakistan Defence forum website.
Later it was ascertained that people in the posters were not the martyred CRPF jawans from the Pulwama terror attack. Those pictures were from a website called ‘Eelam View’, where the same poster was used to announce the deaths of some LTTE fighters. The article was published on 6 March 2014.
