Aero India 2019: 24 hrs to go, Rafale roars across sky

A parallel taxi track operation by an all- women crew in a Domier 228 aircraft is expected to be another major highlight.

Bengaluru: As the countdown begins for Aero India 2019, the city got a taste of what is in store at the dress rehearsal for the event on Monday which saw a daredevil aerobatic display by the Sarang and Surya Kiran teams to the applause of the stunned audience.

With children thronging to meet the pilots, Squadron Leader Tinju Thomas was the centre of attraction with many young girls aiming to be like her as she will be the chief commentator of the Sarang team that will present at least three displays.

Meanwhile, Dassault Aviation Rafale, which will present its dual military and civil know-how at the Aero Show, said in a press statement that the Indian Rafales would be delivered in a few months and the Nagpur plant was ramping up for complete assembly and subsequent display of Falcon 2000.

On February 20, aviation enthusiasts will get to see the first visual range air to air missile developed by the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), BRAHMOS, and AKASH SAM on display, besides a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress.

The exhibition at the venue will feature the 25-year-old Mysore based company, Rangsons Defence Solutions (RDS) which will display high-quality technology products, which are made in India but are on par with international standards.

These include SATCOM-ON-THE-MOVE solutions for defence communications and inflight Wi-fi for small commercial jets.
