Adilabad: Adivasis of Chinchughat and other surrounding villages staged a dharna in front of the collectorate on Monday protesting the state government’s efforts to include some Adivasi gudems such as Chinchughat, Khandala, Chachidhar- Khanapur, Ankoli, Malebhorigam, Pippaldhari, Mamidiguda, Lohera into Sathnala mandal being created newly.
A large number of Adivasis from these villages staged a dharna under the banner of Thudumdebba. Speaking on the occasion, Thudumdebba district president Godam Ganesh regretted that the state government is making effort to merge some villages which are presently in the Adilabad Rural mandal into Sathnala mandal. The merger of their villages into Sathnala mandal being created newly will cause inconvenience since it was far away from their villages, unlike the Adilabad Rural mandal. They demanded that the state government continue their villages in the Adilabad rural mandal itself and submitted a memorandum to the Adilabad RDO Suryanarana for the same.
