Bengaluru: Pedestrian killed by biker

The deceased, Venkataramanappa, was crossing the road to go to the metro station.

Bengaluru: A 55-year-old pedestrian died on the spot when a speeding motorcycle rider knocked him down near Peenya Metro Station in Yeshwanthpura on Thursday morning.

The deceased, Venkataramanappa, was crossing the road to go to the metro station, when Vinod Kumar, 25, rode his KTM Duke bike in a rash and negligent manner knocked him down. While Venkataramanappa was killed on the spot, Vinod Kumar fell from the bike and sustained severe injuries.

According to the police, Venkataramanappa was going to the city civil court to attend a civil dispute hearing case that he had filed. Vinod Kumar sustained multiple injuries and was admitted to a private hospital. The Peenya traffic police have taken up a case and are waiting for Vinod Kumar's recovery to question him.
