Tirupati: Bhumana plays down Jagan-KTR meeting

The TD had also approached them for alliance for the 2019 Telangana elections.

Tirupati: Advising Telugu Desam leaders not to come to any wild conclusions about the meeting held between YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao at Hyderabad recently, YSRC party state general secretary and official spokesperson, Mr Bhumana Karunakar Reddy called the meeting as a preliminary discussion for protecting the interests of the state and about the special category status.

Addressing a press conference at Tirupati on Friday, Mr Bhumana wondered how the TD leaders could draw such conclusions and make remarks about the meeting and alleged that the remarks of TD leaders was further flared up by a section of yellow party media.

Taking serious exception to the way in which the TD leaders spied at the meet of Mr Reddy and Mr KTR, Mr Bhumana claimed, “KTR came to meet Jagan on behalf of Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the meeting was set in the interest of the Telugu states, as KCR had already extended his support to the demand of Special Category Status to AP state.”

“Telugu Desam formed an alliance with TRS in 2009 and later blamed it for bifurcation in 2014. The TD had also approached them for alliance for the 2019 Telangana elections. All these trial and errors of TD were done in the best interest of AP, but if KTR met Jagan, it is a political conspiracy and against the interest of the state? It really disgusting the way Mr Naidu always dupes the people of the state with his situational lies,” Mr Bhumana said.
