N Chandrababu Naidu Bengal-bound for Mamata's rally
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be leaving for Kolkata to attend a rally being organised by the TMC on Saturday in which all the anti-BJP parties, except the TRS and the YSR Congress, are participating.
Speaking at a teleconference, Mr Naidu said, “I will be attending the rally of non-BJP parties in Kolkata tomorrow. All except TRS and YSRC are coming to Kolkata. So, all will know about the stand of the two parties. There is only the pro-Modi alliance and the anti-Modi alliance. TRS and YSRC are in the pro-Modi alliance,” he said.
Mr Naidu has been putting in assertive efforts and pushed himself onto the national platform by aggressively pursuing the anti-BJP front at the Centre. As part of his efforts to stitch an anti-BJP front, with the slogan ‘Save the Nation, Save Democracy’, he has travelled several times to Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai.
He met Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Farooq Abdullah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, former SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury, DMK supremo M.K. Stalin, Janata Dal (S) chief H. D. Deve Gowda and his son H.D. Kumaraswamy in the last few months.
