Kurnool: 80 per cent assurances implemented
Kurnool: Assuring that the NDA government is committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh state, Union home minister Rajnath Singh said that despite the state government’s non-cooperation in furnishing information, the Union government has implemented 80 per cent of the assurances provided in the AP Reorganisation Act.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned hundreds of crores for the development of the districts in the state, Mr Singh said.
India has become the sixth largest economic power house in the world under the leadership of Mr Modi, he said.
He was speaking on Friday at Rayalaseema-level Shakti Groups’ meeting held at Kadapa.
Paying rich tributes to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao on his death anniversary, Rajnath Singh said that NTR established the party with Telugu pride and opposed the Congress party by tooth and nail.
“We are committed to carrying out the ideals of late NTR to secure and preserve the honour of the Nation,” he said.
Mr Singh reminded Mr Naidu to be aware of the ignominies that have heaped on late P.V. Narasimha Rao and said that he should act as a guiding principle.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said that whoever is with the Congress party is sure to bite the dust.
“Though the BJP has a majority on its own in Parliament, we have given equal importance and enhanced the prestige of the political allies in the coalition,” he said.
On Kadapa Steel Plant demand, Mr Rajnath Singh said that the Centre had expressed its willingness to set up the factory, but the state government did not provide the required details to prepare the feasibility reports.
