GHMC, disaster response called to check site

A Clues team, medical personnel and the central emergency squad were also deployed.

Hyderabad: The police rushed the Disaster Management Force and the bomb squad after hearing the massive explosion at Kapra on Friday morning. A Clues team, medical personnel and the central emergency squad were also deployed.

A GHMC team took almost the entire day to clear the debris. Mr Vishwajith Kampati, GHMC director, Emergency, Vigilance and Disaster Management, said, “The building’s beam and pillars were damaged. Teams from the Disaster Management Force rushed to ensure that the structure is safe.”

Kushaiguda inspector K. Chandra Shekar said the blast was suspected to have caused due to the gas leakage. He said a case of suspicious death had been registered.

Police officials said the explosion did not result in fire. They squashed rumours that re-filling of domestic gas cylinders was taking place.
