No objection if Hyderabad made second capital, says K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said that he had no objection if Hyderabad was made the second capital, as proposed by Dr B.R Ambedkar.
“If India comes here like (in) Delhi, I have no objection”, Mr Rao told a concave here. He accused the rulers of undivided AP of contributing to the destruction of the city built by Quli Qutub Shah and Nizams, which was known for its lakes, parks and pearls.
He dismissed the claim that people of Seeman-dhra origin had created wealth in Hyderabad and were shifting to AP after bifurcation.
“Hyderabad was a revenue surplus state during the Nizam rule. The city had a power supply system in 1915 while Madras got in 1927. The city had the first underground drainage system, airport, railways etc. People from various states settled in Hyderabad centuries ago and created wealth.”
He said no one was lea-ving Hyderabad after bi-furcation. “In fact more people are coming to Hyderabad. Some misconceptions were created during the Telangana agitation days, which have now been cleared,” Mr Rao said.
He said the TRS’ win in the GHMC polls, where a major chunk of people of Seemandhra origin reside, “shows we have support of all.”
