Abdul Manaf, 35, from Valapattanam was reportedly killed in November last, as per the information received by his relatives on Wednesday. He was associated with the Popular Front of India in Kannur. Police said that Khayoom, a Keralite who is with the IS, informed his relatives about Manaf's death through Telegram app. Khayoom from Munderi Motta in Kannur is also wanted by the police in the IS case. Manaf was associated with the Popular Front of India in Kannur and the Valapattanam police had charged a case against him for joining the IS. According to the police, Manaf is an accused in the murder of CPM worker Bineesh that took place at Kunnumkai under Valapattanam police limits in 2009. He was with the PFI then and later left the country for abroad.
