Hope Deepa will join AIADMK soon: M Natarajan

Deepak is already in the care' of Sasikala and had participated in the last rites of his aunt Jayalalithaa.

Thanjavur: V K Sasikala’s husband M Natarajan on Wednesday expressed the hope that Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar will soon join the AIADMK, a day after she indicated to float a new political party.

“Both Deepa and her brother Deepak are our children. They may have some desires and we will fulfill them. Some politicians have misguided her but I am sure she will ultimately come to us,” he told reporters here.

Deepak is already in the ‘care’ of Sasikala and had participated in the last rites of his aunt Jayalalithaa. Later in a TV interview he made his loyalties clear stating that even during the lifetime of his aunt, Sasikala took care of him and his family. He said he was always welcome in his aunt’s place, the Poes Garden, and claimed that his sister Deepa too would have gained access there if only she had sought it.

Announcing her decision to enter politics at Chennai on Tuesday, Deepa made it clear she cannot accept Sasikala as AIADMK general secretary.

During his Wednesday media interaction, Natarajan reiterated his charge that “some sections” in the BJP were trying to split the AIADMK and said, “It will not happen”. He described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a good person.
Referring to the ban on Jallikattu, he said “it is an insult to Tamil culture” and sought the Centre’s intervention immediately. He said the students were agitating for the rights of Tamils.
