Mohammad Mahmood Ali always made room' for K Chandrasekhar Rao

When the TRS was launched in 2001, Mr Mahmood Ali provided accommodation for the TRS office in his house, and set aside a room for Mr Rao.

Hyderabad: Home minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali is such a hardcore loyalist that he has allotted a room in his house at Azampura in the Old City to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

When the TRS was launched in 2001, Mr Mahmood Ali provided accommodation for the TRS office in his house, and set aside a room for Mr Rao.

Whenever Mr Rao used to visit Mr Mahmood Ali’s residence, he used to sit in the room.

The room is opened only for Mr Rao, and is closed at other times.

Asked about this, Mr Mahmood Ali said, “When the TRS was launched in 2001, the TRS office was started in my house. In this KCR has a separate room. I put KCR’s nameplate to this room. Whenever KCR visited my residence, he used to sit in this room.”

He said that after the TRS came to power in 2014 and Mr Rao became Chief Minister, he removed his nameplate.

“The Chief Minister should not have many offices. I removed only the nameplate, but the room is still there,” he said.

Mr Mahmood Ali shifted to ministers’ quarters after he was made deputy Chief Minister and revenue minister in the 2014 Cabinet.

During festivals and other occasions, the Chief Minister visits his residence in ministers quarters to greet him.
