Hyderabad: An 18-year-old engineering student who was returning home after attending a defence examination was crushed to death by a tanker on Monday evening. The girl along with her relative was on a bike when the speeding tanker brushed the bike’s handle with high speed, resulting in a fall, said the Medipally police.
Medipally inspector B. Anji Reddy said that Mukkera Akshitha, 18, an engineering student from Ranthapur village in Peddapally district came to the city to attend an examination conducted by the Defence Research and Development Organisation. On Monday, the girl along with her relative, T. Shiva went to Peerzadiguda to write the exam at Surya Techno College.
At about 5 pm, when the duo was returning to Uppal on the bike (AP 01 P 0462), a speeding tanker (AP 22 Y 3780) touched the bike’s handle resulting in the fall of the duo.
