Telangana government to revive past glory of Telugu poets, literary personalities.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that the state government will announce the steps to promote and conserve Telugu on the closing day of the World Telugu Conference on December 19. The CM attended “Sathavadhanam” (questions by 100 questioners programme by Dr GM Rama Sharma) at Telangana Saraswata Parishad in Boggulakunta. Mr Rao said that his heart is filled with joy by seeing the huge response to the WTC and the government will pass resolutions on the final day which will make Telugu-lovers across the globe happier.

Dr Rama Sharma recited poems praising the welfare schemes implemented by the state government and the CM. He enthralled the audience with his memory and mastery over Telugu. The CM felicitated Dr Sharma on the occasion. Mr Rao said, “The ongoing WTC being organised in Telangana for the first time will remain in the history forever. No WTC earlier could receive such a huge response. The jampacked venues at all the four locations in the city prove how Telugu language lovers are supporting the conference. The Telangana government will take all the steps to keep this enthusiasm alive.”

He added, “On the last day of WTC, the government will announce several initiatives for the promotion and conservation of Telugu. We are currently drafting them.” With the audience raising slogans requesting the CM to recite poems like he did at the inaugural ceremony in LB Stadium, Mr Rao recited two poems. Mr Rao said, “Earlier, Telugu literary personalities, poets used to get a lot of respect. Somehow, they were ignored now. The Telangana government is committed to revive their past glory.”
