Hyderabad: Yapral Joint Action Committee members on Sunday held a protest against what they called encroachment on Yapral lake by a private group DNR Gardens. The committee members claimed that over 15 meters of the outflow channel of Yapral Cheruvu had been encroached on by DNR Gardens and other private agencies.
The RDO of Medchal had called a meeting at the office on December 6 to hear out all contending sides on the issue. However, Yapral JAC members claimed that while they asked for information about the encroachment on Saturday, the RDO office told the members that it would take another 15 days to survey the lake and reach a decision. Meanwhile, officials from the RDO office confirmed that a survey of the lake would be conducted soon, after which the complaint would be looked into if needed.
