Bengaluru: Clean-up hero stopped in tracks

Subodh Yadav moved out of KPSC, 21 shifted.

Bengaluru: In a major setback to moves undertaken to clean up corrupt Karnataka Public Service commission, the government on Saturday recalled secretary, Subodh Yadav and appointed him as commissioner, Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Services.

Mr Yadav, in his effort to weed out corruption and unethical practices from the state-run employment body, KPSC, was on the verge of implementing online examination system besides many other measures which could bring in accountability and transparency the KPSC which is mired in corruption, nepotism and unethical practices.

Mr N.S. Prasanna Kumar, seven years junior to Mr Yadav, the current deputy commissioner Gadag district, replaces Mr Yadav.

In all 22 IFS, IAS and IPS officers were transferred on Saturday. They are Satish G. - Commissioner for Agriculture; Shanthakumar N.L. - Managing Director, Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation; P. Hemalatha - Managing Director, Mysuru Minerals Limited; M.V. Savithri - Managing Director, Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation; Dr N. Manjula - Director, Information Technology and BioTechnology; Manjunath R. Chavan - Conservator of Forests and CEO, Zilla Panchayat, Gadag; Tanushree Debbarma - Joint Managing Director,

Karnataka Urban Infrstructure Development Corporation; Panduranga Bommaiah Naik - Additional Commissioner (Administration) BBMP; Hemaji Naik - Member, Karnataka Administrative Tribunal and several others. Vikash Kumar Vikash - Commissioner, Social welfare department; Sushma Godbole - Mission Director, National Rural Livelihood Mission; Shettennavar S.B.- Director, Directorate of Groundwater, Bengaluru and others.
