Like a Lion, YSRC Will Take on Pack of Political Wolves' All Alone: CM Jagan

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has come down heavily on his principal political rival, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, by saying the TD chief has no idea of “doing good” to the people.

“Chandrababu came to power first time by backstabbing NTR, the second time due to the support he gave to BJP in view of the Kargil war and the third time with a loan waiver promise, which he however failed to implement,” the CM told a public meeting in Nuzvid on Friday.

The Chief Minister asserted that the YSRC would “all alone take on the pack of political wolves” that were coming together to “loot public money and share the spoils of power.”

He asked people to remember the “social injustice” done by the Telugu Desam during its rule in collusion with the band of looters and Naidu’s ‘foster son’.

He said, “Chandrababu took every section of the society for a ride with false promises and threw the election manifesto into the dustbin after coming to power. In sharp contrast, the YSRC has ushered in social justice by spending a major share of the DBT and non-DBT welfare funds for the SC, ST, BC and minority communities.”

The Chief Minister said that 80 per cent of the '2,40,000 crore and '1,70,000 crore spent on DBT and non-DBT schemes respectively in the last 53 months, went into the hands of the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities. They have also received the lion’s share in the allotted 30 lakh house sites and the newly created 2.07 lakh permanent government jobs, he said,

“This is how we are ushering in social justice,” the Chief Minister said.

“In the 2019 elections, the TD was given a humiliating defeat as the people had realised about Naidu’s failure to fulfil his promises. I caution the people of AP that the political wolves are coming together again to share the spoils of power by pursuing the policy of plunder, stash and devour,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

The Chief Minister said his political opponents led by a “feudalistic” Naidu were unable to relish “the love the YSRC government showered on the weaker sections and have become envious of its popularity.”

“The YSRC will alone fight the political wolves, like a lion, in the next elections,” the CM asserted and asked the people not be carried away by their false election promises.
