Hyderabad: A youngster from the city who objected a person using abusive language at a wedding was stabbed to death during the wee hours at Rajendranagar on Sunday. The police apprehended three persons in the case and are investigating.

According to Rajendranagar police, on Saturday, a wedding was underway at Chintalmet. As the girl’s financial condition was not sound, the locals contributed money and arranged some facilities for the wedding for which a huge gathering was present.

While the wedding celebrations were on, a drunk man among the guests was using abusive language and the women there felt uncomfortable and raised objections.

Mohd. Feroz, 22, a resident of Chintalmet, who works at a tile-making unit, intervened which led to an altercation between him and the drunk, and youngsters from two groups got into a quarrel.

Locals informed the police at around 12 noon. A patrolling team went to the place and pacified both parties. The youngsters were warned and asked to leave the premises, as celebrations were underway.

Some time later, the two groups which were roaming on bikes came face to face on a road in Chintalmet. The quarrel resumed. Feroz was stabbed with a knife multiple times. The injured man’s friend rushed him to OGH Hospital, but he was declared brought dead, said the police.

Rajendranagar inspector G. Suresh said that the altercation between two youngsters continued after they left the venue. They fought again and attacked Feroz. Three persons identified as Naseer, Mohsin and Sarvar, all in their early 20s, have been taken into custody for the questioning, he said.

The inspector said that based on the complaint of the victim’s brother, a case of murder was registered. The body was handed over to the kin after the autopsy at OGH mortuary and a team was present till the final rites were completed, to ensure that no untoward incident occurs.
