She was always taunted and degraded by them because she is not well qualified and often had to face physical and emotional abuse.

Udupi: The Human Rights Protection Foundation (HRPF) of Udupi has appealed to External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj for help in bringing back two children allegedly abducted by their father and taken to Abu Dhabi on September 18 from Ullal in Mangaluru .

Speaking to reporters here, president of the foundation, Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag, said the children’s mother Rishana Nilofer of Ullal had approached him with a complaint that her husband, Mohammad Shaanib Imeathali, had abducted two of her children, one a six- year -old and another , a year- and- five- months old and flown with them to Abu Dhabi.

“The desperate mother is panic- stricken. Ever since being married, Rishana has been ill- treated by her husband and mother- in- law. She was always taunted and degraded by them because she is not well qualified and often had to face physical and emotional abuse. All her basic needs, including clothing, were met by her parents as she was always treated like a slave by the duo,” Dr Shanbhag added.

According to him, Shaanib, who was employed in the Gulf, came to Mangaluru on September 8 for Rishana’s third delivery. “Their third child was born on the September 10. And on September 18 , he took the other two children out on the pretext of buying them ice cream. But instead he took them with him to Abu Dhabi and called his wife from there to inform her about what he had done.
