Youths excited by Bill Gates' visit to Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Eager to have a glimpse of one of the richest men in the world, whose software programming placed desktops in almost every home, crowds crammed the AP AgTech Summit at APIIC ground here on Friday. But space constraints and security concerns left many disappointed. Bill Gates received a grand welcome when he arrived at Vizag airport, in the presence of CM Chandrababu Naidu, IT minister Nara Lokesh, agri scientists, farmers and students. Amidst tight security, Bill Gates was brought to the Summit venue around 3.15 pm. He visited the stalls at Hall-4, spent time at the exhibition hall, along with CM and appreciated the ideas.
Though computer screens were put up at other halls too to view the proceedings of the valedictory function, all the participants wanted to get into the main hall (Hall 1) and see Gates live. As the main hall got jam-packed, cops did not allow many pass holders, much to their chagrin. All the participants, especially youngsters, had equipped themselves to capture a picture with Bill Gates.
