Telangana: Told no seats, Indigo flyers stage protest
Hyderabad: About 15 persons holding Indigo tickets to Lucknow held a protest at the Shamshabad after they airline refused them boarding after stating that seats were not available.
One of the ticket-holders who was stopped said: “My two children, my nephew and I were at the airport by 5 am for the flight scheduled at 6.20 am. When we tried to get the boarding pass at the express check-in, the machine refused use four times.”
He said they went to the Indigo desk at the airport but were issued one boarding pass. Eleven other passengers to Lucknow faced a similar fate, he said.
He said the airline promised them tickets in the next flight and alleged that the staff demanded Rs 15,000 per ticket. “Why did the the airline sell more tickets? I will file a petition in court,” he said.
Asked about the denial of boarding pass, a spokesperson of Indigo said that as per the guidelines, the passengers should report two hours before the flight. These 15 passengers had turned up late, he said.
