Andhra Pradesh: Auto drivers, porters told to help children

The programme was conducted by the Forum for Child Rights here on the Railway station premises.

Vijayawada: Childline has been doing a good job in taking care of and protecting children, Mr Gandhi, divisional security commissioner, SC Railways, said here on Friday. He participated in the Childline Interaction and introduction programme with autorickshaw drivers and railway porters. The programme was conducted by the Forum for Child Rights here on the Railway station premises. On the fourth day of the week-long celebrations, a workshop on “Child Right Protection — Our Duty” was held.

They motivated the auto drivers and porters to save and inform the helpline numbers 1098, 100, 182 if they find any child in danger as the kids who flee from homes will reach railway stations and bus stands. Mr Sattibabu, DSP, SC Railways, Forum for Child protection member Mr K. Subbaraju, Mr Ramesh, Childline incharge of Vijayawada division, participated in the workshop.
