Nine cars vandalised in Hyderabad's Srilakshmi colony

Saidabad police collected CCTV footage from a camera installed on the street and analysed it.

Hyderabad: Nine cars parked in Srilakshmi colony in Saidabad were vandalised in the wee hours of Thursday. The owners of the cars woke up to see their vehicles’ windows and lights smashed.

The cars were parked in a by-lane. After seeing the cars the owners approached the police and filed a complaint. Saidabad police collected CCTV footage from a camera installed on the street and analysed it.

“The footage showed two people smashing the car windows one by one. The incident took place after 1.30 am. Their movements indicate that both were intoxicated. An effort to identify the suspects is going on,” said Saidabad inspector K. Sattaiah.

The car owners said they cannot find any motive for the incident. They said that they do not have any enemies who would come and destroy their vehicles.
“The suspects looked shabby and aimless in the footage. They might have just done it for fun,” said a police official.

Cops have booked a case against the suspects and launched a manhunt to arrest them. The damage has been assessed at a few lakhs by the police.
