Top cop assures help to families of police martyrs
Vijayawada: AP DGP R.P. Thakur praised the services of police martyrs and assured that the Police Department will work for the welfare of the family members of the martyrs. He said that children from the martyrs’ family should get good education and serve the Police Department, by taking their parents as role models. He visited the Police martyrs’ families at Gujjanagundla in Guntur on Wednesday and interacted with the family members, including children.
Mr Thakur further inaugurated Gym-fusion and Aerobic and Yoga Centre at the Police Parade Grounds in Guntur for the policemen.
Asserting on the need for physical fitness to discharge duties efficiently, he asked the policemen to join the gym to gain good physique and health. He said that health is wealth and it gives mental strength also.
He presented small gifts to the children of martyrs’ families, during the interaction, on the occasion of Dasara. He said that the policemen sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the society and assured all help to their families.
Jaya Lakshmi, member of a Police martyr’s family, requested Mr Thakur to help her by providing a bank loan for the construction of a house at Samirpeta in Guntur rural area.
Responding to the request, Mr Thakur assured sanction of funds for the construction of a house from the Police Welfare Fund as a loan which can be repaid through installments.
