Hyderabad: Newborn's body found in dustbin

The baby boy was first spotted by a GHMC worker who was cleaning the premises three days ago and informed the police.

Hyderabad: The body of a newborn boy was found in a dustbin near Omni Hospital in Chaitanyapuri three days ago.

According to the police, the baby boy was first spotted by a GHMC worker who was cleaning the premises three days ago and informed the police.

“We found the child was dead and shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem,” said Chaitanyapuri incharge inspector N. Ramu.

Preliminary examination revealed that the child was not born in hospital but outside as the placenta was attached to the baby.

He was alive when the mother placed him in the dustbin, according to the police. The Chaitanyapuri inspector said, “We are checking all the CCTV cameras in and around the premises. Since the dustbin was covered with parked vehicles, it has become difficult to identify the person who left the baby.” Ramu added, “We are investigating the case and within two or three days we will find the person who left the baby.”
