Hyderabad: Extremely weak due to low haemoglobin levels, Madhavi was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. 28 days after she was attacked by her father Manoharachary for marrying outside her caste. Her hand still in a cast, her husband Chinna Sandeep and mother-in-law were by her side.
After almost a month, Madhavi’s face still shows the trauma that she endured. It will require a lot of care at home where the main focus is to improve her haemoglobin levels.
Dr Devender Singh, senior vascular surgeon at hospital, said, “She was in shock and her haemoglobin was only 3gm%. The neck was repaired first and then her hand. The hand was hanging in two pieces.” Dr Ravi Suman Reddy, senior neurosurgeon, said Madhavi had facial weakness which would take some time to improve.
A crowd-funding effort raised Rs 8.5 lakh to treat Madhavi. The government will pay for her treatment. The hospital has refused to give the complete cost of treatment.
