Chandrababu Naidu praises Titli-hit for their patience
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that he was all praise for the people of cyclone Titli-hit Srikakulam district for the resilience they have shown in the face of the disaster.
Mr Naidu inspected several villages starting from Tekkali town, Kotabommali, Seetannapet, Santabommali, Hanumantunaidupet, Yamalapet and Kakarapalle and interacted with the people to know the ground situation in villages.
Several villagers expressed happiness over restoration of power and water supply. However, power supply was yet to be restored in some places.
Praising their patience, Mr Naidu said that entire state administration has been camping in Palasa and will leave only after normalcy is restored in cyclone-damaged areas.
He enquired whether the people received rice and other essential commodities distributed free of cost.
A majority of the people said that they did, but some complained that no food was supplied.
The CM said that he stayed back in Palasa to instil confidence among the people.
He assured them that the state government would extend support and pay compensation for loss of houses and livestock.
He assured the people of Vaddidandra do not worry about power. “Solar energy should be developed in future,” Mr Naidu said, visiting the residence of Kuttimi Appalaswamy, who died due to Titli cyclone and assured support to the family members.
Meanwhile, minister Nara Lokesh visited Mandasa village and directed the officials to supply tarpaulins to the 3,344 people whose houses had their roofs blown away.
The officials said 3000 tarpaulins reached the district and the remaining would arrive soon.
