Rights of tribals to be protected: Telangana minister
Khammam: Roads and buildings minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who addressed the first meeting of Bhadradri district officials on Monday, tried to explain the goal of the TRS government for the new district, saying the administration should solve each and every problem of the people as team work.
The new district should be in first place in every scheme and programme of the government. Establishing Rama Rajyam in Bhadradri district was the final goal with blessings of Lord Rama, he said. The governance should be the priority of the people within three to four months. The main agenda of the government is to take the administration to the doorsteps of the people especially is the aim of the small districts he said.
“Adivasis are predominant in the district and they are basically innocent. The hamlets of tribals have dense forests, streams and rivulets. I have interacted with each and every tribe in the district for the last 30 years. These people have been facing lack of infrastructure problems. Basic needs like medical and health, education and roads should be provided to them on priority basis. The rights of the tribals should be protected,” he said.
Coal, water and power are plenty and there is lots of scope for agriculture and setting up new industries. Employment generation should be the prime object of the government and the officials should evolve plans accordingly.
The land acquisition for the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project is the prime task of the officials. The revenue officials should take up the issue soon. The government is ready to allocate Rs 1,000 crore for paying compensation as the expected amount for it as Rs 2,500 crore. The land acquisition of first 10 km is the key to the project and it should be completed soon. “Every-one should strive to make Bhadradri is model to emulate,” he said.
